President’s Corner
President's Message
Again I encourage BWEHA members to consider running for the Board of Directors. We need new faces and new ideas. Directors meet twice a month. On the first Tuesday of each month, they conduct a Workshop at 1:00 pm to set the agenda for the regular Board Meeting on the second Tuesday at 7:00 pm. Elections will be held in April. Recently several of our homeowners were disturbed that the Association could not do anything about cars speeding through our community. I must remind them that the Association’s primary mission is to enforce the legal Covenants and Deed restrictions that keep our homes beautiful and valuable, especially important during a declining housing market. We have no authority, manpower or means to enforce civil and criminal laws. This is the responsibility of our Sheriff’s department, with its manpower, training and means to enforce the law. We have none of these powers or resources. Homeowners must call the Sheriff’s Department (844-7711) when a victim of or a witness to crime. Remember that the deputies want to talk directly to victims and witnesses. They do not want to talk to third parties. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. If a street light in your area is out, please call Withlacoochee River Electric at 727-868-9465. This is another area in which the Association has no jurisdiction. Pet owners are reminded that county ordinances require that pets must be on a leash when walked and their droppings picked up by the owners. It’s very easy to take along a plastic bag when walking your pet. Please be considerate of your neighbors. Thanks! Patricia Coffey, President
